Every home in the borough

Facts and Figures:
  • Area surveyed:  30 sq km
  • Images processed: 600
  • Ground control points used: approximately 15,000
  • Buildings analysed: 65,000

Horton Levi's heat loss survey of Haringey has been published on-line, allowing the public and business owners to assess their own buildings.

The original data has been transformed into a colour coded map, allocating a heat loss banding to every building in the borough .

Original Data

Analysed Data

The original greyscale data was georectified and processed by hotmapping.co.uk so that it could be precisely overlaid on Ordnance Survey map data.  This process involved the manual allocation of ground control points to the thermal images and corresponding map files.

Every building was then allocated a mean heat loss value from the pixel values of the imagery.  This was then turned into a banded map and published on the internet by SeeIT Ltd.
